2007 Slot Values

The Competition Working Group has been sequestered for the last several days in a cabin to develop the color to fish values for the 2007 Tournament. This season, the Commissioner will had more flexibility as they award value increases to employees as part of the Tournament's annual fish value review. At the same time, the Commissioner will take on the responsibility to balance the fish value budget allotted to anglers. The foundation of the system remains "pay for performance" and focuses on the management of anglers values, keeping them competitive in the fishing market.

Here's the color to value chart

Local Boy Shames Defending Champs

In a shocking turn of events a local boy schooled a member of the three time defending champion Carp Pros by landing two carps in the Lisle/Woodridge Firefighters Annual fishing derby. On Saturday May 26, the 11 year old Joe landed the first carp of the day that weighed in at 3.49 pounds while Steve of the mighty Carp Pros looked on. Not to be outdone, Steve was able to land a 4.9 pound monster within the hour. But the youngster wasn't done yet and he responded with a 5 minute fight that resulted in a 7.5 pound carp (shown in photo at left).
When interviewed, the lad stated "Why are they allowed to be called The Carp Pros if they can't catch a carp during a derby. It's not that hard really, I caught two." Joe went on, adding "It's like be called an architect when you are really a req writer."
The naming committee will be convened to investigate the allegations and review the rules governing the use of team names.

Addiction Charters Named Official Tournament Charter

For Official Release: May 26, 2007
Dateline: Batavia, Illinois
The Marketing Outreach Department of the Tournament Office today named Addiction Charters the official 2007 charter of the FESS Fishing Tournament. Skippered by Captain Dave Garnier, the Addiction has provided an outstanding fishing environment.
This unanimous choice was based the experiences of the last two trips as well as Captain Dave ability to control the weather to ensure that the shore-bound anglers don't get seasick. Many anglers noted that in addition to navigating the boat, setting out the gear, telling us what pole the fish is on, netting the fish and cleaning the catch, Captain Dave always manages to answer the most inane questions with a smile and helpful response (eg.. how deep is it here? How about now. Are we still in 43 feet?).

It's Captain Dave's non stop work ethic that allows the precious anglers time to focus on important matters like that shown at left.
Congratulations Captain Dave and thanks from all the anglers.

1st Lake Michigan Trip A Success

The first charter of the season on Lake Michigan last Wednesday May 23rd was an outstanding success by all accounts. The weather combined with the fast fishing action to produce a fun filled day for all six members of the 2007 Tournament. Once again, Captain Dave of Addiction Charters led the group onto the calm waters of Lake Michigan in pursuit of the mighty Coho Salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) and when they returned a few short hours later all of them had caught thier limit.

Shown below is a selection of photos from the exciting day.

(It's a beaut Chuck)

(Tom strangles the fish that took 15 minutes to land)

(You call that a fish Steve)

(Russ gets a slippery one)

(Way to eye-hook it Ron)

(Merle's Steelhead)

(Coho or kissing fish?)

(Another double by Ron and Merle)

At the end of the day, the haul was enough to fill a five gallon bucket with fresh fillets

The Tournament Office is accepting reservations for the season ending, non points event charter on Lake Michigan. It's tentatively scheduled for late August. Let us know if you are interested.
